Erasmus Kloman's career as an artist began with his retirement from a Washington think-tank in 1985. He studied at the major art schools in the Washington area including the Corcoran and the Art League in Alexandria.
In 2001 he and his wife Suzanne moved across the Chesapeake to historic Chestertown. There he opened the Kloman Gallery and Studio where his paintings and books are displayed. Also exhibiting there is watercolorist Colleen Peters. The Gallery is located at 317 Cannon Street. Open by appointment.
Chestertown is a leading center of the arts on the Eastern Shore and home of Washington College founded in 1782. Kloman serves as Chair of Friends of the Arts of the college.
